So for some time, I've been miking an amp to record guitar (obviously, better sound than a plug in, to my ears anyway). I've recorded a few tracks with the GFS pickups and been happy with the results.
5-6 years ago, I was DIing the Tele (with original pickups) into my Tascam AI all the time. Gain knob was usually around 1-2 o'clock.
The other night I plugged the Tele in, wife was home didn't want to get loud with an amp, so DIed a couple of tracks. With these GFS pickups the gain can't be turned up to more than 9 o'clock (off is 6:30) without clipping!

I'm a big GF fanboi ..... for the money I think they're outstanding ..... I've never claimed they're as good as what you'd get paying 4 times as much but I do think they get maybe 90% there.
