Getting my new Firewire interface to work with Logic Audio Plat. v. 5.5.1???

Here we go again...

I have had Logic for over 3 years now, and I have always used it with a Delta-66/Omni Studio set up. Well I have decided to get the MOTU 828mkII Firewire Interface and have boxed the Delta-66.

Well I installed all the drivers that came on the CD with the MOTU interface. But when I started up Logic and it asked me to specify which ASIO driver I wanted to use, it had no drivers in the "click-and-hold" pop down menu.

How do I check if the drivers are indeed installed?

In general how can I make this interface work with my Logic Audio Plat. running under Windows XP???

I am really going insane here. I fell in love with the idea of firewire because I thought it was the most trouble free way to record. Well I am having problems!

I finally got Logic to boot the drivers for the MOTU Firewire ASIO drivers. So that is taken care of. But when I click play and have the midi click clicking, I hear the click, click, click, through my little computer speakers plugged in round back of the PC. But I head nothing from the headphones jack on the MOTU. Do I have to disable the onboard sound that came with this Dell?

The User's Guide that came with the MOTU doesn't get into this kind of stuff at all. I describes all the neat things the MOTU will do, but it doesn't have a very clear clean cut section on how to get started with this Interface.

Anyone???

The Midi click comes from Instrument 64 (Klopgiest) within Logic.
You will not hear it from the outboard gear unless you can tie the audio out to the unit.
 
I am not talking about sending a midi command to a midi device, thus triggering a midi click. I am talking about the tempo click that is generated within Logic by the host PC.

And I still need to know if I need to disable the onboard sound that is in this PC like I had to with my PCI Delta-66???

If I have to tie something to the Interface, how would I go about doing that?

I am starting to think that my strength lies in my music and DEFINITELY NOT in the technology of it all!

1. Yes I know what click your referring to.
2. I would certainly disable the onboard sound, you dont need it.
3. You should be using monitors on the output of the MOTU unit.
Which unit are you using, the 828 ?
