Getting an actual 'figure' that my input is peaking at in dBFS?

Hi all.
Total newb question, but just to ensure im not 'tracking too hot'.. Other than the little meter in the bottom right corner which shows your input and the red clipping light..
Is there a way to view the actual figure, what i've just played peaked at?

I'm not even sure if I worded that well enough but hopefully you know what I mean!
I'm basically trying to make sure I'm not recording too hot..

Thanks!

You need to look at the input channel meter in Cubase. That is the peak meter that counts. Mind you, for most instruments, you shouldn't be anywhere near the clip light.

There's a little number there that tells you what the peak is. If you click the red clipping light or adjust the level it will reset.

Somehow I haven't even noticed this.. Its on the little meter on the right on the transport bar?
I'll pprobably go home tonight.. see this and just slap myself!

Thanks!
