Gate for rhytm metal guitar

Hi people, can you tell me what value need to be set in gate plugin for metal guitar. I have Audiotrack waves gate plugin and I have 4 value in it: Treshold, Floor, Attack, Realese.

Any gate level is dependent on what you want to exclude from your playing. If it is to be used to keep low level errant sounds out of the recording, set a level which just allows what you want by. Also bear in mind when finding that level any reverb of note decays should be looked at so that your gate is not chopping them off before the desired sounds have ceased.

I agree. You're just gonna have to man up and spend the time manually cutting all the excess stuff out of there. It sucks, but the results are worth it. If you listen to something like a Disturbed record, you can be sure that it isn't just a tweaked gate on those guitars.

Say what you want about the music (not exactly a fan myself), but their mixes are unreal. Andy Wallace can turn a turd into gold, so when he's given that sort of ultra-tight editing and performance mix, the results are just unmatchable.
