hahaha i'm not even sure...

but there was a user (forgot who) that gave us the chord progression for his song but not yet revealing his song. he wanted to see how many different versions of songs can come out with the same progression and lot of ppl tried it, from funk to blues to alternative and later found out that it was nothing close to the original song...
it was very very cool IMHO.

so i was trying to find the thread but having MAJOR hard time +)

Right I see what you mean there. I just thought you were joking about the fact that so many songs do sound the same and that you started to tread it as a little game, just to have fun with.

As for that thread, I do not know that one, must be posted on the songwriting forum I guess.

In a way it is not that hard to have the same chordprogression and let them all come out as different versions [or songs]. change the feel a little and it already makes a huge world of difference. You know the attempts Led Zep made at reggea? Well does it sound like reggea? Not really, but it does have a totally different feel compared to their more "Rocky or Folky" stuff. I know someone will get me on this one now here, and perhaps we should not go into this here at all as it is a totally different subject.
