Hey guys i've been looking for the fuzz pedal I want for a long time. I want a nice 60's fuzz stones, kinks, beatles, cream, you know what i'm talking about. I use a washburn with 2 single coil pickups and a humbucker. What fuzz pedal do you think would get me the right sound. Thanks.

Go try out the Digitech Green Monkey. It has that vibe.

Did they stop making the Big Muff? That would be the one from the era.

sounds like do-do (unless you are Jimi Hendrix), but the Fuzzface is what you are looking for.

You can even waste your money on an original, if you can find one, and spend $300+ for the original transistors...

I sold mine on Ebay about a year ago and got $325.

Fuzzface is what you want. I doubt any of those bands would use one today. A lot of the pro guys today seem to like the Boss pedals (they say they remind them of the old MXR).

I've had a lot of fuzz pedals and have been interested in them for quite some time. The current fuzzfaces aren't worth the name that graces their label. Hands down for me, I'll take a fulltone '69 pedal over anything. It's a germanium fuzz pedal modeled afetr the tone Hendrix got at Monterey. However, in order to get "that" tone, you'll need an amp that has a marshall tone to it. Fender amps do not do fuzz pedals justice in my experience. There is something about an el-34 tube that makes a fuzz pedal shine. Lastly, I would avoid any of the fuzz pedals you see at guitar center and the like. Pedals like Mike Fullers at fulltone are hand made and the components make a huge difference. Check out http://www.fulltone.com to hear some of the clips. The only way someone will get their hands on my '69 pedal is when they pry it from my dead fingers. The only other one I might consider is the zvex fuzz factory. Very interesting fuzz pedal but not as conducive to live playing.
Hope this helps,
blake
