hey flash, it sounds cool, but it could be 5-10bpm faster....?

cheers

sorry about the registration thing at soundclick, the only reason i am there is that my stuff has drawn alot of attention on the charts and the more people i get there the higher up the charts i go. do you realy think it needs to be fast groove i played it at 95 bpm, my best friend says it sounds like zz-top or should i say billy gibbons i believe thats his name. anyway thanks for the listens guys.

still waiting for my auth # from sound click. :( I wanna listen! ;)

well i would post it up on nowhere but when i tried it said that i had made to mant rotations or somthing like that, hmm i thought they just sent you a email wright away at soundclick giving you your password and stuff sorry about all that bro that stinks ill email them for you and chew butt lol.

Hmm for some reason my isp was blocking the email..used diff email, got it! lol

Very nice, tasty tune! I also listened to angels. I love it :)

Nice arrangement, could make a cool 3 or 4 piece song. The guitar parts sounded good, but a little squeezed like some of the mids were missing and more highs coming thru. Not a bad tone though. Bass and drums were pretty good. could bring up the bass some more.

thanks for the listen guys, i didnt use my zoom for this song i went directly into my crate and used a sm57 to mic it, so the tone is much dofferent from my norm. i will turn the bass up, the drums were midi again replaced with live synth pro.

Great Bass Drum! I like the "oomph". The only thing that jumps out at me is the tone of the lead guitar. Sounds a little dry and harsh.

Great groove.

lol the psw board all gave up becuase i wouldnt be insulted by there silly childish remarks. one by one they kept saying ok you win we give up.

chibi your wright that guitar sound is kinda dry and harsh maybe a little verb would help it out a little?
that was my strat directly into my vrate gfx8 with a sm57 shoved down its throat lol. it does have kinda a harsh cutting quality to it not sure if i like either. after being brutally attacked at psw i would like to say thanks to all you guys who take the time to listen to stuff even when it sucks and given good tasteful criticism, you can make the word shit sound good if you say it with a little tack lol. anyway thanks guys for all the time and thoughts you have shrared with this self funded at home recording goof ball. i appreciate it and im gonna wright a song for you all in honor of all the things you do. thanks bros.
god bless the flash

I wouldn't worry too much about PSW. At the level these guys operate at, they insult each other all the time. Ive seen AE's that both had platinum records slamming what the other did. PSW used to be alot more helpful and open minded, but the last 6 to 8 months since the Bitch Slap Diary started it mostly went downhill.

Ive yet to listen to your music, I don't have audio ability while Im at work. Im big Vai fan so Im partial to instrumental guitar work. You know you getting old whenh you have to email yourself a reminder to log off.

Is that Pink an original 777?

SoMm

maybe you should get a NW account for this board cuz it was one painful progress and wait to hear just one mp3 on that site...

I think the lead guitar sounds too dry, the highs actually hurt my ears a little, maybe a little delay/verb would help. Nontheless, good playing. Hope to hear a more complete production out of this:)

Good job, and, a good fight you had with those so called, AEs at ProRec.

s.o.m. yeah thats a original 777 and i wish it were mine lol my best friend owns it and i am allowes to use it whenever i like because he dont play no longer but he wont sell it to me lol.
a1a2 thanks for the listen and sorry about the pain in the pants that we all know as soundclick, i do have a nowhere account but i gotta get of my rear and send waldo some cash because i have had to many rotations and it wont let me upload anymore stuff. i agree the lead tone is to harsh im gonna add some verb to it in a tasteful way and hope that balances it out. again thank you all for the listens i realy appreciate your time and ears. the flash

Hey Flash2ace,
I listened to the one of your songs this weekend, Ill try to find time to listen to the others. Since Instrumental guitars is my thang Im pretty familiar with Vai, Satch etc.

If I may make some comments that are my opinions only.

The clean tone on the Whale tune is pretty good, but maybe too dominant in the mix, pull back the levels about 3db and add some reverb. The drums have decent tone for what your trying to do, but they need some compression to tighten them up, too much air and distance with regards to the rest of the mix. Your timing is a little off, it will get better the more you record yourself, it could be latency so its a minor annoyance, everyone suffers from timing. The song could use some structure. Its too repetitive and there is no real feel of direction. If you were doing vocals it wouldn't be a bad rhythm track, but for instrumental it needs some change ups.
Your lead sections or fills need some work. Your suffering from whammyitis. Most people who learned to do bends on a fixed bridge guitar almost always bend flat when using a whammy because they bend by feel instead of by listening to the notes. Keep trying. Your heading in a good direction and its just going to take a little more time and effort.
Reviewing your stuff is easy so far. It has alot of the same elements and problems my earlier stuff had. In fact I have almost a identical tune that I did on a 4 track about 8 or 9 years ago. So everything Im telling you has been told to me as some point. Except I was paying $40 an hour for the producer/engineer advice whilst in a studio. Ouch.
It best to have fun with it and just keep an open mind. I got songs that I listen to and cringe, songs with hours and hours of overdubs and retakes and it never gets any better. And there are songs that magically work out on accident on the first try. You also have to remember that most people don't relate to instrumentals regardless to who is doing them. I used to get frustrated when people would ask when I was going to add a vocalists, but not anymore. Even Steve Vai sings:p

Who are your influences?

I think it great stuff, I see plenty of potential waiting to be refined for the next level.

How's about more kick on beats other than 1? It could use more of a pulse. It kinda hangs on beats 2-4. That's ok here and there, but not for most of the tune. I think this is really important with any tune that comes within shouting range of blues / funk.

Enjoyed!
