Now were talking !

Great input Ken..

next beers on me ! :)

Im old school. hell, had the old 4 track TASCAM back in 87 recording.. showing my age.. :)

Im an audio/WAV guy only, not much into the midi stuff.. did some research and that midi stuff seems to be for disco dance pop or whatever the hell that crap is they do..

Cubase for me has been doing ok, but im looking to invest in the best audio software out there, just beefed up my system to a fat 7200 HD and a 1.9 XP AMD with 512 DDR, and im willing to drop another 500-1000 on a great software, was looking at pro-tools, heard some great things about it but if im not doing midi at all, ill definatley checkout the Samplitude.

Checked it out, quess the newest version is the 6.0?

I take it has dierct X plug ins? will i be able to carry over some of my VSTi instruments and direct plug ins?

Bought Izotope Ozone for my next adventure into mastering, not quite ready to marry that b*tch just yet..if ya get my drift? :D

Ill try the free demo and have a go at it..

Thanks alot for the tips... much appreciato me amigo!!

Freak on! :D

Freak - Newest version of Samplitude is actually 6.03, with 6.04 coming out probably this week, and a major upgrade as it switches over to emagic distribution sometime in May. It's awesome with DirectX fx, and does fine with VST fx with an adapter that's supplied, but it DOES NOT CURRENTLY support VSTi. That's another reason I use Cubase VST. The new May version will reportedly support VSTi.

Ozone is a very powerful program. As you become more experienced you'll learn how to use more of the features. Keep bashing at it.

Also - don't give up on MIDI quite yet. There are many uses for it that have nothing to do with "disco dance pop."

Take it easy,
