Would I be able to use this with a Firepod?
IE:Mic -> Converter -> lucid Spdif out -> Spdif in (fp) -> (fp)spdif out -> Lucid spdif in -> monitors?

Would this work or am I crazy here?

I downloaded the manual and yes, you can use the Lucid converters. You would need to make the switch in your control panel (see page 17).

If you don't have any other preamps besides the Firepod, then the converters are not necessary. However, if you have a nice high-end preamp that you want use for synths or vocals, then here's how it would work...

Mic/Synth -> Preamp -> Lucid AD Analog In -> Lucid SPDIF Out -> SPDIF In (Firepod) -> DAW

then,

DAW - SPDIF Out (Firepod) -> Lucid SPDIF In -> Lucid DA Analog Out -> Monitors

I hope this helps...
