From the dungeon...

More of a sketch than a song...still needs some melody--I'm thinking some slide guitar on top of this. But here's what I tracked tonight. (Forgive the imperfect timing--I did this with a slight fever--I'm dealing with a bit of the flu here.)

 
The Dungeon? Is that the name of the tune or your studio? I ask because that's been the name of my studio for more than 25 years. I downloaded yout tune and will give it a listen a bit later this morning.
 
I really like the feel of this song. The mix is great too. Did you have a compressor on the master bus? During the louder parts of the song the dynamics get totally crushed.
 
Cool sketch. it does need some kind of melody to bring it together. the bass sounds good. there seems to be something missing in the middle and the highs are kinda harsh. it sounds like there's lows and highs but someone stole the mids.

I was referring to the studio and not the song. But the studio isn't officially called "the dungeon." It just happens to be in the basement, so it's kind of a nick name. I haven't come up with an "official" name for the studio yet...
 
Okay, here's the same tune, fleshed out some, and with a bit of lead/melody added on top. Sorry--no slide guitar--I'm just not there yet. So it's still all on my acoustic. And for the record, yes, it's still compressed all to hell--that's how this homey rolls.

 
Sweet song I love the vibe. I would hipass the guitars more. And I love how the bass line kinda pulls it all together.
 
I raelly like your tune for sure. It does seem to me that I hear some compressor pumping a bit on the heavier parts. Not bad but it's there.
