First let me say that I am an absolute snob when it comes to monitoring and I rarely ever like anything, and have been disappointed by many of the recent monitoring crazes.

Furthermore, I don't like active speakers, and always have preferred a nice passive monitor with a high quality amplifier.

Having said all that, the HG3s have broken the rules on all of the above. They are a fantastic mixing monitor that are fun to listen to, have a huge soundstage, and most importantly, their low end translated perfectly to multiple systems.. a huge feat for any nearfield style speaker imo.

I can see these monitors becoming a pro studio standard in the near future. Big congrats to Harvey and the whole PMI crew.

Being a good musician doesn't exempt a person from being an asshole. those that constantly play one on the forum(s) must enjoy the part.
