OK, I lied.:D

Dust in the Wind again, with a bunch of fiddles, JMarcomb doing his great playing, new arrangement.

As Mix will point out, I own a shitty mic, like Mr. Microphone. I try to do the best with what I have, so Ream me a new one...

I'm sure it will be working again soon..

No access for me either but I'll check it out when its available!

how come with all your professional credentials, you can't stash away an extra grand or two for some recording equipment? Or do you have that many bills?....or a $250,000 fiddle? (and you eat pbj's all week long)

I made a comment about what sounded like stiff improvasational playing once, which seemed to get some attention. But getting away from the performance aspect for a sec, you gotta admit, your recording sonics don't compare to the average around here. And most only have a computer and a grand worth of toys. Sure, I understand get the playing down first, and leave the recording to those in the know.... But hey...look at people like Erland. What's he got....one sub $100 mic and a portastudio? Usually sounds pretty good. Your mic DOES make you sound like you purchased it at radio shack and you're recording standing in front of your clothes dryer with it running. That in itself seems in such conflict to a well rounded professional musician in this day and age.
....which getting off on a tangent on that subject....I hate it when people (usually seems to be girls too)...say stuff like "make it sound...well, I can't describe what I am hearing, but I'll know it when I hear it"... "I don't get into all that technical mumbo-jumbo. I'm a songwriter...." " I don't know how to make my instrument sound good, but I know in the "RIGHT" hands, "they" can make ME sound good...."

btw...you snap at me, I'll snap back. Seems to me, you start most of the bullshit between us anyway.

jeez, I hate your avatar too... Looks like some whinny ass TV preacher...but that's you...isn't it? You need some Jack Russells in your life. BTW, hope the girlfriend is doing better by now.

Sorry dude. I do have too many bills. I cant afford anything right now. It is not a matter of credentials, it is the economy. Our president has killed the arts, but that is another story.

But getting away from the performance aspect for a sec, you gotta admit, your recording sonics don't compare to the average around here

This is why I hang here, I am looking for advice. I dont have the money to buy equipment; my girlfriend is unemployed, and I dont make a whole lot of cash.

Yes, I made a comment when I was very drunk, and I apologized. You seem to cherish that, but I apologized and I moved on. You obviously have not.

btw...you snap at me, I'll snap back. Seems to me, you start most of the bullshit between us anyway.
I think you are fantasizing, maybe you are a faggot. I said one comment to you when I was drunk, that is all, end of story. I didnt like how you told folks here to comment on music. Other than that, I have had no contact with you in any way, shape or form.

jeez, I hate your avatar too... Looks like some whinny ass TV preacher...but that's you...isn't it?

That is too stupid to respond to. You must be a very lonely man, but calling you a man is quite a stretch.

Thank you for (not) listening to my stuff. You must be a sad person.
BTW, hope the girlfriend is doing better by now.
She is extremely ill.

I enjoyed your last tune, a B Sabbath cover. I gave you a nice response. I didnt go on about the vocals, but if I did...

Rest well, Brother. You must be a very lonely person.

hmmm.. looks like a bad time in here.

hey.. its great to see you added some goodies in there dave.
I will definitely check this out when nowhere comes back from nowhere.

oh David.. all I can say is "go jump". Why didn't you just leave me out of your very first post in this thread?

(nice to hear all those royalties are piling in:rolleyes: )

btw...you almost quoted my entire reply (to respond to)....

...but you left out all the good stuff. ...standing in front of the dryer... getting some jack russells... whining like a chick.... admitting that is your "faggot"(stolen quote) puss in the avatar....!!

sorry dave,nowhere aint working.
im not a big r.e.m. fan,but the string work on their tunes is
high quality shit.did you arrange ,as well as play?tell me more about yer ties to the trans siberian orchestra.(these cats give me goose bumps)
i really hate to hear that a musician of yer caliber has trouble even affording good mics.that fucking sucks!
my studio will be done in about a month, let me know if you need to lay something down.hope yer gal gets to feeling better.

Sounded pretty sweet. Cool doubled fiddles. You could tell the mic is probably not the best, but it still sounded pretty nice. I've heard the guitar parts several times and they still sound superb.

I thought in a couple of spots the fiddles weren't strong enough and got buried just a bit by the guitars.

Something weird on the right side at :58-:59. Two small sounds that I don't think were intended to be there.

But I really liked. it.

real nice arrangement DavidK,always liked that song.Great playing as always by both of you. Keith

It runs now... I'm DOWNLOADING IT !!! I'll be back, Dave... :)

Because of my lack of qualifications, I won't comment on your recording quality, mix or political views however... I did enjoy listening to this tune.

Thanks
Dennis

Hey Dave

Sounds better... :)

You really did an awsome job on the solo! peeeerfect... really like the swing down @ 2:13 before the verse.

Thanks for collabing with us little guys ;)

that would be cool to do another collab in the near future!

Smoother compared to the first version you posted before. You really listen those replies you get on the first thread. Great !!!

In the down side (You may hate it, but you need it, right ?...:D )
Agree with TripleM, I've heard some annoying glitching part ~ 00:58. I also heard flanging things on ~00:42 and ~01:13.
The whole violin parts actually well arranged & performed. But looks like you compress 'em too much. I listened to both version, and violins in this new version sound alot more thin. Wide spreaded, but thin. Too much high on EQ. I hope it's not my cheap monitor... :D Overall, it's wonderfull song. On it's way to my CD Burner...

;)

Now that's what I call good fuckin' music..................

Ya done real good Dave....
Mixes will come with equipment and time...but,........
You are one of the true artists here who ALWAYS impresses me with his skill and ability....

JMarcomb is a new one to add to my list too :D
Man you guys played the ever livin' hell out of this tune...

Thanks guys,
Joe

OK.. I expected NUDITY!! I've been looking all over the net but never found any.. I figured this was my chance!!
