Found Some Nice Reels

Just had to share my good fortune with people who can appreciate it.

I bought four of these 1/2” 6-screw precision reels brand new in sealed boxes for about $10.00 apiece. They are vintage Ampex in the red & black box, which I haven’t seen for ages. The flanges are slightly thinner than a more recent Ampex precision type I have, but the aluminum is very high quality, sturdy and straight. The outsides of the flanges have a very fine textured satin finish… brushed aluminum rather than anodized. I’ve actually never seen this type before. A small find and I would rather win the lottery, but kinda fun.

:)

What the hell happen to my country?
There are three worldy "mystery" words:
"education", "infrastructure" and "innovation"
Manage to decode those three and you'll know what happen and what's comming.

:( :(

Very similar to the Ampex reel I have but mine came in a foldout "book" style shiny beige box.

Never seen the style above or the red / black box before, first Ampex boxes I remember were the grey / light blue ones with the rainbow stickers on the spools! Still plenty of those on sale on EBay! Early to mid '80's era probably!
