I finally found my old yamaha keyboard (Casio CTK-630) and I noticed it has a MIDI in and out. I know little what a MIDI do and maybe this could do the trick for making drum tracks. But now what? I know I need to connect my keyboard to the comp but how? I heard that you need a Direct Box so you can connect to the comp and get a good sound quality. But I figured that since it has a headphone output, I'll use it to connect to the comp and maybe I could get a signal. However do you need a MIDI program in order to use a MIDI keyboard? If you do, please tell me. And if you have any more information that you would like to share regarding with MIDI, I'll appreciate if you do. Thx in adv
PS: Also, is there an adapter that you can connect two intruments (at the same time) to the comp?

I would guess that you would get better software drumsounds than those found in your keyboard.

Use the keyboard to control the software drums via MIDI.

This is what MIDI is for (among other things).

By connecting your MIDI outport to your joystick input (with a special cable about $10) you'll be able to play the keyboards and generate your drum tracks inside the PC.

What kind of software are available that can do the trick?
