OK so i did it

So i transferred over to pc with turning up volume, so its just that the preamp on this thing totally sucks. But someone who is experienced please let me know, if were to buy a boss equilizer pedal and use it as a mic preamp would that be practical or just stupid

it would be mic > spliced xlr--1/4 > pedal.>1/4---1/4>mr8hd

Someone in another thread stated that Fostex would not introduce EQ into this product. I guess there's EQ in the mastering buttons? I think EQ would be a wonderful thing, but I don't really think this product is expected to replace anything done on a PC or pro recording environment.

My interest in it personally would be to record stuff off the fly while traveling, transfer stuff composed on my pocket PC, use both as a mixer in, and to record myself in, live situations without having to use an AC outlet, and just generally make it so that I'm less reliant on my PC, since I STILL spend an inordinate amount of time on it, anyway. :D
