I've posted this one before so I apollogize to those who have heard it more than once. I have been experimenting with some different mix options (mixing mostly IN the Box) as opposed to mixing fully on outboard gear. I think I got alot closer to what im hearing in my head with this than I did with the last version.

Any thoughts/comments/mix advice is appreciated.

maby to much ride &and a little more toms?
a touch more lead

i really dig this song, n it sounds good too.

What else can i say dude?

That was just straight up bitchin!

Nice work.

I can't comment on the mix, but as a metal fan, there was nothing I heard that detracted from the 'listenability' of the song. I dug the guitar work and the overall sound and style of of the song.
Nice!

Just a second

gotta finish dousing all my gear in gasoline....
ok fire's started...
if i can't sound like that, i don't even wanna play anymore.
you literally rocked my face off.
the only comment i can think of is maybe if you could get the guitarist to ease the front end gain down just a hair, you could up the low-mids just a bit on the rhythm tracks, gaining a bit of rhythmic punch without risking the tracks becoming muddy.
that's really just splitting hairs, honestly, even as is, you could take some photographs of dead bodies, and darkened metropolitan city streets, and throw quite an impressive metal cd together...
just my opinion...
ps, does the drummer just have massive arms or was there an accomplice helping him punish that kit?

Overall great sound. Personally I prefer the rhythm guitar to have a little more gain than that (the palm muting sound is a little weak) but the leads sound perfect. I wish my band sounded like that. I suppose if we weren't out of tune half the time we'd have a better chance.

Finster thanks for the listen. Glad you enjoyed it.

Amra appreciate the listen. Im the guitarist and the bassist. Thanks for the compliment.

Capn Snazzy

thanks for the comments and the listen.....

Hes an octopus man. Whats funny is that I made him play on a 4 piece kit to save tracks. He normally plays a 6-8 piece depending on the style. Hes pretty laid back on my tracks, if you want to really here him get down, check out www.canvassolaris.net thats his "real" band.

Jdsony thanks for the listen. The mix is pretty dense with guitars (like you need me to tell you that haha) I had to cut the gain back somewhere to make them all "fit". Less leads would probably = chunkier rhythms but im more into the melodic approach than heavyness. Hell a better engineer could probably make both things work well but im no where near being a real "engineer" haha.

Really, really well mixed. I bet the wav. format sounds really excellant.

Nothing really to critcize here. The rythm guitar is a bit thin, but it's good.
The drummer is really good, too.

I just checked out a song from the drummer's band. He's insanely good.

Ya, I like this! This sounds really good. I like all the layered guitars. It has all the elements of traditional metal and still sounds fresh. The drumming is really good too. It reminds a little of OPETH. It sounds very European Metal with a hint of US Bay Area Thrash.

I like it, it sounds great...

Stuff like this makes me want to put the guitar down and stick to the bass!

Nice playing Wireneck. It's definitely some cool shit...

hey rocket, don't put down that f#$%n guitar. did you ever play bass on that tune for LivilaNic?

Nah, he changed his mind about it. I think it was ideological difference...

Yeah that was awesome...

the mix is great, the drums were captured really nice. How to improve the song? Shit, why try? The silence is silent, the tracks are all where they should be.

swatssd thanks for taking the time to listen. The drummer can play circles around me, im sure you heard that when you listened to his band. LOL He is definitely a pro level player.

AndrewStrat you nailed it right on the head. My cd collection is loaded with European Metal bands. With the exception of a few like (death, Cynic, Canvas Solaris and a few others) I rarely get excited by American metal these days.
Thanks for listening.

TravisInflorida

u are the reigning metal king of the bbs

your too kind man. thanks for the listen

Rokett I know the feeling man. Everytime I hear Spiral Architect's "A Sceptics Universe" I want to throw down my bass and guitar. Thanks for the listen. ....

DigitalSmigital thanks for listening.
