Could you tell me what can I do to record my kick drum without distortion??. I have changed the card jumpers to attenuate the signal. In the Delta´s control panel I set the inputs of both XLR to the lowest possible.
I´m using a PRO25 to mic the bd, I always get this little distorted sound. If I place the mic into the bd the booming sound increases, I want this kinda of "thud" sound not that fat disco or hip hop bd that I´m getting. I mean it´s not bad but I need another options.
I have a Powerstroke3 clear and front Tama logo head with a hole on it, two pillows for muffling. I tuned my kit using fifths bd included.
If it does matters, I have a mixer, but I need his inputs for condensers, so there are two ins left for the snare and bd, those that come with the Delta.

Any ideas??.

I'm no expert on drummiking (or miking at all) - hope those that are chime in. For all I know it might be the microphone that's distorting, if so I don't know what you should do. If it's not my next guess is the preamps on the card so you have to get the signal down.

I guess you don't have a pad on the microphone or that it isn't enough. But you can buy or build one. There's some suggestions on the web if you search.

I think you'll find one here:

Sorry, about asking something that I´m very close to know how to solve it, but I just wanted to know if there is somebody round here that have used one of the XLR inputs from the Delta without problems to mic a kick drum.
