Hey Cellardweller & Rvdsm...
I'm from 'round your parts (outside Peoria, IL). I worked at the Madison Theatre for almost 10 years as the audio tech (audio slave)/ monitor engineer, before they closed it recently for live music. It's now exclusively a comedy club, which sucks, 'cause it was probably the best "theatre type" ( approx.1200 cap.) venue in Central IL. This place sounded great! Anyway, I'm setting up a recording studio in the area (actually Canton) and would love to talk to musically minded people from our area.

What Jimbo was talking about (preamp vs. power amp distortion) is definitely right on the mark. Also the comment about using two different pedals to achieve a "blend" of the 2 is also a great idea...maybe an Ibanez TS (in front of, or behind...) your Boss pedal might work out.
