Hi all - After a couple of decades of digital recording I've recently joined this wave of weirdos who have gone back to tape recording - specifically the Tascam 414, which I used a ton in the 80s and 90s before eventually getting swept up in the digital revolution like everyone else.

Anyway, going back to this delightful little machine has been nothing but joy so far - having tons of fun recording for the first time in a long time. However, I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to get ahold of a footswitch for these things? I can't find anything online... I'm guessing the modern footswitches that are designed to work with digital recorders would probably not work, right?

From the above the footswitch contains more than simple switches as does the remote I made for my Teac A3440. The switch APPEARS to use a "2.5mm TRS jack plug" ? I hope that's a typo coz I don't know where you would find one of them buggers!

Dave.

The “correct” model factory foot switch for the 414 is the RC-30P.
