Focusrite Scarlett 8i6

Starting to convert to computer (i Mac) from hardware recording and the 8i6 seems to have all the ins and outs etc to suit my needs, would appreciate any feedback on the unit which would be used mainly for guitar recording in Logic Express.

I've had the Scarlett 18i6 for about 6 weeks, interfaced into Sonar X1 Producer. The 18i6 is very similar to the 8i6, just capable of more inputs, I believe. I've been very happy with it. Connected to Sonar easily. I record both acoustic and electric guitars. The 2 XLR input preamps are quite good for condensor mics - both acoustic guitars and vocals.

I recommend it as a quality preamp/sound interface at a very reasonable price. Good luck!
 
I am considering the same unit, pardon me for the interruption here, and was wondering it is also worth the extra $$ over the Sapphire 6.
 
The Saffire 6 uses USB 1 and the Scarlett products are USB 2, which I think is faster. Also, more inputs. I think the preamps are the same, based on the web page info.
