fixing up my guitar

Yesterday I decided to clean and fix up my fender strat. It had stickers on it from when I was younger. I am still removing some of the stickers. I was removing one when I noticed a "ding" below the pickguard. Is there any way to fix it or smooth it out?

I'd leave it alone too, but here is a method that should work for you.
"On some dents it is possible to swell them out by putting a wet rag on the dent and then placing a hot soldering iron on the wet rag over the dent.
The steam causes the crushed wood fibers to expand back out this process is good on clear finishes and dents in the neck."

If the dent is just in the finish you can use super glue to fill the dent.Build it up in layers until it is slightly above the finish.Wet sand it flush with fine sand paper like 600 grit.Sand working up to 2000 grit then rub out with fine buffing compound to match original sheen.A hot iron sounds like a good way to fuck up a finish.
 
nice, but that shows an acoustic. I'm talking about my electric fender strat. You think it'd still work?

I KNOW that it would still work.
The "dent" doesn't know if it's in the body of a Strat, a Les Paul, or a Stradivarius Violin. ;)

you could end up jacking your geetar up more than what it already is.




i took a pretty good size chip out of my p-bass.......i yelled, screamed, cried, and then did all i could do to fix it.....i ended up just leaving it alone....






cant see it when i play becuase my arms in the way, so its all good...



its just character, make up a good story about it
