Hey there,
I've been working over the last week or two to get a studio set up in the basement of our new (old) home. After battling the software and hardware , i finally got something together. The basics:
Recorded with Dell Laptop and RME Multiface
Sonar 4 Studio .
Mackie Mixer
Shure KSM 44 Mic.
Drums were done on Yamaha keyboard.
Fernandes Bass
Schecter Diamond C1/EA Guitar
Fender Pro Reverb Amp.
Ozone 2 for bass compression
Ozone 2 for Guitar enhancement.

Let me know what you think. The room shares a family room enviroment, and i'm not sure if the acoustics are ideal, welcome your feedback!

Oh Yeah, song is called Summertime Groove .

sounds a little robotic with the bass but other than that, sounds really clean! Good Drums for done on a keyboard!

Sounds good. I would add another rhythm instrument to play off the lead guitar, maybe a sax of some sort.

The quality of the recording is great to my ears. I am not sure what you are aiming for in your sound, but to me it sounds like- isolation of tracks, done seperately, and then put together. Walter

I am trying to load the song, but it won't work. I will try later. Walter
Try downloading it to your PC, then run it from there.

Thanks for the listen Joey. The drums are a no brainer on the keyboard...A loop sample that has the beginning and endings. You can do fills in the main. The sound is better than i can can get recording my own drums so far. I'll have to try and spice up the bass part!!

Fish Med, thanks for checking it out! I have no idea how to play sax! Even on the keyboard it may take a while. Thanks again!

Walter - Thanks! Mostly I'm aiming for a good quality mix, with all of the instruments balanced and in their own place....I did record it in 6 tracks and then it was mixed down. Recorded at 48Khz 16 bit , and converted to mp3 with Musicmatch Jukebox 10 .

I think that is the first song I've ever recorded with me playing any kind of guitar. Mostly self-taught over the last three years. I hope to learn more from just recording myself and getting feedback from all of you fine folks!!

Thanks again!
Jason

Not bad...bass seems to go out of tune a little bit at times....maybe the intonation is off. Nice simple melodic melody with the acoustic. Cool groove, nice mix.

You nailed it! That is great about your guitar playing. I did my first lp, playing guitar only twice with a band. Keep putting it out! Walter

Nice playing and nice sounds. Nice tune man...good recording. I enjoyed it...good playing, and a nice job on the mix. Keep it up man.... :D

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback..I'll keep at it! This weekend hope to get another out...

Dogman, we lived in Mountain Home for 17 years, and just moved back here to KS in '04 . Been through Nampa 100's of times! That's cool! Thanks again for the listen!
