This is just a short recording of me noodling around.I didnt polish
it up much, just a little reverb and some echo at mix down.I really
just wanted to get something down so I could hear how the new guitar sounded recording wise.I am very impressed with the sound, but would like to hear what others think of it.There are a few mistakes in the playing(trying to get used to the feel of a new guitar)but I am mostly interested in comments about the sound. Its titled D-A-D-F#-A-D.

Sounds good !

Nice sound..clean recording. I guess Christmas came early for a lot of cats this year. By the way, I was listening to "funked up", cool tune, but were you aware that ZZTop has been ripping off your vocal style for years! Happy Holidays.

Sounds great man. What is it? I almost wanna' guess, but I've looked like a jackass enough for one day.

Your first warm-up arpeggio told me the whole story. That's a wonderful sounding axe! I want one. The bottom is nice and deep, the middle strings come totally clean - no mud to me, and the highs don't rip my eardrums. The resonance is the kind I like, doesn't ring into next week but sounds fat while it's being played.

No compression, right?

My guess is a Guild. The last 12'er I heard like that was Guild. And that was about 30 years ago - haven't found anything I like as much as the sound of that guitar - just never could afford one.

You're gonna be playin' that thing a lot I'd reckon.

Thanks for the listen folks. The signal chain is as follows:
Taylor 110 GB into one mxl 603(12th fret),then to a presonus blue tube pre-amp and recorded on a yamaha aw 4416.No
E.Q. or compression, just a little reverb and a slight echo at mix dn.
Monkey,Howlin' Wolf also based his vocal stylings on the
Growlin' Clarence sound.Hey Chris,do I have any legal recourse
here?

So you're playing a boatload of doublestops? Lots of octaves happening there.

Yes,I actually recorded this piece to demonstrate the advantages
of alternate tunings to a member of another board.I really dig this tuning because of the three open D's in different octaves.

That's very cool! I'm gonna have a whack at that tuning. There were moments there that sounded a lot like Kottke on the 12-string. After further listening I could still be fooled. So now I'm just impressed!! That guitar sounds wonderful, too. Waiting to hear some of your "growlin" accompanied by that axe!

Cool sounding guitar. I listened to American Dream and funked up also. Cool tunes.... I think you might have a lawsuit on your hands also.

This sounds great. You played this guitar for a little bit when I came up the other week. It has a nice and fat warm tone, yet the notes are clear as ice.

He only bites accordion players. He's a Mississippi street dog - 40 pounds of fearless loyalty. I added the hat and pipe to make him look smart - 'cause he ain't!
