Good efforts. but I think you have to re-examine your mixing process... the first 2 songs I listened to are all one big wash of sound - no depth or dimension to individual components.... vocals are indistinct and have a "just another wash in the mix" sound to them.....

I would do a remix, paying careful attention to the levels and frequency spectrum of each track, and try to create a more distinct sonic balance.

Hey there... welcome to HR!

I'm listening to "Lint in my pockets" right now. I really like the instrumental sounds of the track. The vocals sound like they're performed well. They're WAY back in the mix though, which I think is problematic. They also seemed to be panned left, which really hurts their presence. The focus seems to be on the instruments/feel, and the vox take a back seat to this, which I feel takes away from the track.

The other suggestion I have would be to maybe make things more interesting as far as the arrangement. The drop-dead slow tempo is nice, but I would love to hear it kick into a mellow, double-time trip-hop groove either halfway through, or maybe in and out of that groove. I think it would really prevent the tune from getting stagnant, which it seems to because there's no shift in the dynamics or momentum.

Like I said, I really love the sounds overall, just throwing out a few ideas for you to consider.

Thanx for the replies,

Blue Bear, this may be a big request but how would you suggest i go about creating depth and getting rid of the washed out sound. If it too is much to go into here maybe you could point me to somewhere that would clarify it to me. Would using a shelf eq on the sounds to lower the unnessesary frequencies be a good start? Thanx

Not my type of stuff, so don't take my comments too seriously. OK, here goes:

STARS- The one sided panning of the drum beat kinda annoys, and the vocals have a bit too much of the reverb. Also, that drumbeat isn't really original. I've must of heard that one about a million times. You know, the one that Oasis had on nearly all of their songs. I guess some can live with it. Nice mood on this one. Dreamy. I like the violin (cello?) part in the end. Also the soft echoing keyboard sound is also nice. As I said, I'm not really into this kind of music, but it's not bad.

LINT IN MY POCKET- Pretty damn good singing that chick does. The drum sounds have way too much reverb, also the singing has it a bit too much. A little too much high end also for my tastes. Another nice moody song here.

COME OUT COME OUT- Very much reverb here again. The singing reminds me a little bit of Björk. You know that childlike singing. A little irritating, but not as much as Björk :) Very repetitive song, and after a while, she could be singing about anything, because it gets kinda boring to listen what she is singing. Trance isn't really my thing, so I don't know what to say about the song itself. I also don't know the standard, so I can't comment on the level of the song.

So, don't kill me, because I don't listen to trance anyway :) Try to understand.
