... at a party over the weekend...I had posted a recording my band did of it in practice and wasen't sure if we were gonna be able to pull it off in front of people....we didn't do it at the gig last month...but after a bunch of beer, decided to play it at this last party...I recorded the gig with a portable minidisk recorder and a single stereo mic...not the best performance or recording, but those of you who commented on the 1st post might be interested in how we pulled it off live....

I like the sounds........seemed to pick that guitar up nicely...great tone man...and the tune sounds fun.... :D

Hey Monkey Allen & Dogman....thanks!!We had a good time playing out...although I think we may have scared some of the older folks and kids that were at the party at that time :o !!!

Can't tell you how many memories this brings forth :D

Yeah you probably annoyed a few older folks but they would have to be over 65 to not be able to appreciate this tune (hahahaha).

Cool playing, recording and singing, just gets better as it goes along. Sounds great for three piece.

:) :D :) :D

Can do naught but applaud your taste. Not the obvious Zep cover but a superb one.
Sounds like you chose the recording system to compliment your guitar because it does.
Next party record from the desk or something for a fuller sound - I'd love to hear that.

Thats excellent, great choice of zep cover indeed. Sounds really good, the drums come across very clear, cant hear the bass as well as the guitar. Your guitar comes through well, maybe needs a bit of mid range definition. Im sure it all sounded great in the room. Cant fault this at all really. Great playing and a good recording from a stereo mic. Well done.

Timothy Lawler- Thanks dude...appreciate it! :)

ido1957 - Yeah you probably annoyed a few older folks but they would have to be over 65 to not be able to appreciate this tune (hahahaha). Ha!!That's true...It's amazing the legacy of Zeppelin lives on some 30+ years after this album came out..We also played "What Is And What Should Never Be", "Immigrant Song", "Good Time Bad Times", "Dancing Days", and "The Ocean" that night....recorded most of the night...we played for about 4 1/2 hours with breaks....Thanks for the comments!!

rayc - Thanks man!! Yeah, we are just doing this for fun and were all pretty big music fans of that era, so we try and play the not to obvious covers from the bands we love...

gummblefish - Yeah, the bassist is also the lead singer so he sometimes has a tendency to fade out with his bass playing while he is singing...he has gotten much better at it as we have played together tho'...Still working on my Zepplein patches in my Podxtlive...I have to do some tweaking as I have switched to using a Gibson Firebird from my usual Variax500....thanks a lot for the feedback...I appreciate it!!!

Just uploaded another tune from the party....It's a cover of The Who's called "My Wife" off of the Who's Next album...one of the 1st songs of the night so we are a bit stiff but all in all it wasen't to bad I think...

Sounds good as well. Work with trying to get the singer heard more clearly. Maybe its clear in the room so you need to work it from the desk, maybe take a bit of the reverb off. Great drumming!

Thanks...yeah we were still tweeking the sound as we went as this is one of the 1st songs...The drummer is a maniac...plays with alot of energy, definetly a big Keith Moon fanatic :) !!!!

Love The Wonton Song. Great playing all around. Really cool, Vari.

Dude, that sound sweet, you have nothing to worry about ;) It's much different sitting here critiquing a live mix at home than actually being there. I guess what I'm saying is that if this sounds this cool on my home system it must sound several times better live, with the atmosphere and all. Great work man, you guys rock
