this is funny...a bunch of people who have never used this product complaining about it
i've owned a yamaha 4416, digi 002, have recorded on all kinds of pro tools hd systems with apogee converters
and the sound quality and ease of use with the emulator x 1212m is not far off from any of those, and sounds damn good...
polus for the production side of things, it's amazing
this is an e-mu/ensoniq product, same guys who made the infamous Paris Daw(which if it had continued support i know a lot of people would be using it over pro tools)
so guys, go try it out before you nick pick alright?

and i can show you songs recorded on there if need be

and yes, you can listen to mp3's just fine, installation is easy...if anything is difficult it's getting the emulator x settings correct...but once you do, just save a blank pallate, and constantly go back to it

Update:

My 1212M installed and configured itself with ease. And the music I'm currently making with it sounds incredible. The E-mu puts my old Audiophile 2496 to shame. It's been a fantastic investment and stable for me.
