Fat Snare/Metallica Kickdrum

Does anyone have a sample of a really high quality and fat snare,
fe. greenday - 86 / Reel Big Fish songs...
Something punky...

And a really good sample of a kickdrum , something that sounds deep and with a lot of click. Like in Metallica - One.

Stop cheating you. Ive slaved over a hot mixing desk for fekin hours trying to perfect my snare's and kik's! Is this the way that mixing drums is going? Using mostly samples, cause ive heard that alot of pro albums use samples to get that even perfect snare and kik hit every time sound. Suppose they will use a few different samples of the same drum though so as to not sound too false and robotic.

If you are trying to get fat sounds while mixing you are doing stuff wrong. RECORD it to sound fat... and it will mix itself everytime.

Samples are awesome tools for a quick save your ass fix. But dont rely on them. No one is going to hear anything special in your sound if thats all your doing.

Im not opposed to mixing them in with real sounds because thats an art and technique in itself (its not as easy as it seems to make that sound natural).

I know you can purchase a few sample packs that are good.

hey, i use MIDI drums, so mixing is about the only time i can get them fat.
