Fast track Protools SE

I have the M-Audio Fasttrack and Protools Essentials and I cannot adjust the latency setting once I open protools or any session in protools. I'm still gettin the lag and pops and static in my playback b/c i think the latency is too low.. Any ideas for help???

What do you mean, you can't? Is the option grayed out or something?

Ordinarily you go to Setup>Playback Egine> and then adjust the buffer settings, requiring a restart of Pro Tools.
