Sorry to bring this thread back, but I wanted to ask if anyone listens to Boards of Canada here in the Analog Only section of homerecording... if you haven't maybe give their album Music has the Right to Children a listen - it is crazy good.

I haven't really heard anyone talk about this group here, which is surprising because I feel like they have a very similar mentality to most people in this forum - they record almost entirely in an analog medium. Which is somewhat unique considering that they are a fully electronic/sample-based group. Considering how famous they have gotten (at least in a lot of popular/indie/electronic music circles) I thought I would have heard someone mention them around here...

Anyway, I read (http://bocpages.org/wiki/Equipment) that they use an MSR-16 and a "Tascam 4-track that has a great saturating effect on the sound," which probably would both have been used on the album previously mentioned. And since this is/was a thread on famous albums made on TASCAM decks, I thought I would chime in. Just a little food [or music] for thought...
