You can pick up the 667mHz for about $2,300. I think it used to sell for 500 more. Nice machine. Are we all waiting for MWNY to see the new duallys?

Will DP3 move to the front of the pack with its multiproccessor abilities?

Will Batman save Robin from the evil Mr Freeze?

Hell, I saw a 733 for $2500 on ebay. Waiting for DP 3 too, they charged me already, so it should be on the way. BTW the upgrade doesn't do much for home users rather then for Post Production, features like surround sound etc - that's what I herd from those who got it already.
 
phew-- Im glad I am not the only one waiting for G4 prices to drop!

For nearly a year Ive been compulsively checking
http://www.applestore.com, waiting for something that looks like a significant drop, and hadn't seen one. The stores all seem to carry theirs at the same price-- I don't think apple gives dealers discounts, or prevents them from underselling, or something. At least that what some store reps have told me. That's no fun. Who does Steve Jobs think he is anyway?! It's enough to make me buckle under and just get a PC!

What do you think about spending that much on an item through ebay?

PS I still have dreams about the DVD burner/733 mhz one.

Well, they just dropped, thank God. I think I am gonna get me a 733 now.

I feel GOOOOOOOOOD this morning! Just as soon as summer namm clears out I'm gonna buy the 733. My guess for price is 1700 + 150 for ram upgrade + 175 for 2nd hdd. I just saved about $1,100.

I wanted the dual 533 but they won't budge on price.
 
Digital Performer

If anyone is considering buying a new mac for audio recording and you are considering Digital Performer from MOTU, you should really look into the multiprocessor machines since Digital Performer 3.0, which just came out makes full use of the two processors for substantial improvement in performance. . . I have the 2.72 version of Digital Performer (the last before 3.0) and I will be upgrading because I have a G4 500 MP.

I would recommend Digital Performer to any Mac user in a heartbeat. It is truly a great program from MOTU, used by the likes of Roger Nichols and others . . ., and I understand that version 3.0 is a pro tools killer.

My two cents.
