LOL...because I *am* an idiot. LOL.

OK...here is the deal. I just purchased a RNC and want to get a nice pre to go with it. I was looking at the GT Brick, but I read on HC that there can be a problem with the RNC and the Brick because the Brick has balanced outs and the RNC doesn't have a balanced input. Is this true? Is this a simple fix?

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but this is all new to me and I appreciate any help.

I have not had any issues with running my rnc with a balanced pre. I chain frequently from pre to rnc to para eq to record

I own both and it's fine. The only problem you will encounter is a slight loss of gain going to unbalanced. Given that the brick has only +55dB of gain, that might be a problem on quiet sources, but works fine for most stuff.

Why not just get his buddy the RNP and the face plate for them both? They are a great pair.....great sound and looks cool in the rack too. A lot of good clean gain and lots of headroom.

You just run two short TRS/TRS cables between them (using the RNP inserts) and preserve the balanced output of the RNP.
