It may be the leads but I wanted to see if this rang a bell with anyone.

Midi and power are via Game controller input on PC. When the keyboard is turned on a constant midi signal buzzes into cubase (SX2) causing the midi input meter to jump around madly!
*But doesn't actually trigger anything*

Has anyone had a similar prob???

I've never seen it before... Had keyboard about a year.

There's a little meter on the location bar in Cubase that pings everytime I (used to) press a note. This never used to go mad. Now it's doing a merry dance what ever I do... except turn it off!

Maybe a controller is going bad. Can you record the "noise"? What is it? If you can't record the noise, use MIDI-OX (free download: http://www.midiox.com) to find out what messages the keyboard is sending.

There is no noise, only a constant midi message stream. But thanks for the link I'll check it out once I stop sciving and get home! :D

The constant message stream is what I was referring to as "noise". "Noise" meaning any undesired signal.

I've not been able to record any 'noise' either.

And that program has baffled me!!

I think I'll just have to save up for a new one! :(

Which program has baffled you? MIDI-OX? Are you seeing any MIDI data in its window? If so, copy & paste it into a message, and I'll try to help you to interpret it.

I'm not getting any info coming up on the screen... RIP me thinks!
