Hi all,

If anyone has a spare moment could you evaluate my band?

www.facebook.com/justwilliamandtheoutlaws

i.e. if you were a stranger to the band (which you probably are anyway!) what are your impressions? are the songs good? what's the image like? likely to become successful? how/what to improve - marketing? song quality? appearance?

Basically, I'm after some constructive criticism!

Many thanks

Can you put your tunes somewhere besides facebook? I don't do facebook.

OK. I listened to both tunes.
Long Way To Tennessee- It feels a little loose in spots. It feels like it needs something else, I can't put my finger on it.
Caroline- Not too bad as a tune. Again it feels a little loose. Keep plugging sir.

It feels like it needs something else

I feel the same way.

The melodies are pretty good. The singer needs to sing better (needs to sing in tune, needs better projection). Especially on Caroline. But not bad. The singers tone is pretty good. How old is he?

"Likely to become successful"

You can have incredible songs written, and it is still very hard to become successful.

Thanks for the comments. I'm the singer! I'm 18/19 - how would I improve my projection?

I'm no singer. So I can't really help too much. But.... First and foremost are you singing from your diaphragm or just your throat? You should be singing with your diaphragm. I actually sing from my throat haha, so call me a hypocrite, but that's where much of the strength lies. You also need to train specific muscles in your larynx. (I don't know any exercises, again I'm not a singer) And your vocals are still maturing BTW. For some males, they aren't finished maturing until the late 20's!

late 20s??? Yeah I suppose I am singing from my throat...sometimes I can from my diaphragm but it's hard to control. I'll have to look up larynx! haha

Some earlier some later. And I've never been in the singing part of the forum, but I've heard there is some great advice there. And yes, IMO the diaphragm is hard to control. That's why I don't use it haha. I only sing songs that don't really require it too much. Like some of Donovan's songs for example. But for your songs, I highly recommend it.

Sing from your stomach and really belt it, it sounds like all your sound is coming from your throat. The acoustic guitar seems a bit loose/redundant, I'd shake it up as much as you can.
