Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of these soundcards. I have never heard of them before, but I have seen wonderful reviews re: their predecessors, Hoontech and ST Audio. Any thoughts?

I use an Audiotrak (sistercompany of EgoSys/ESI) INCA88. And I'm very happy with it! :)

Do you like the pres on it. Drivers work well with Cakewalk on XP. I am currently in aardvark hell, and desperately looking for a way out. I am so close to going with a stand alone device

You'll be sorry if you do.... ;)

No, I don't like the pre's on it, that's why I have a Soundcraft F1 mixer. :)

I guess I am a little confused by your system. can you explain your setup, what goes where, what sound card communicates with windows, what drivers, yadadaya. do you recommend all in one sound cards with breakout boxes and preamps included or mixers into ADC's?

I have 8 (or more if needed) mics or line signals going into my Soundcraft F1 mixer. 8 signals are going into the breakout box of the soundcard and into the computer. The main outs are connected to the mixer again for monitoring. The 6 other outs are connected to various other equipment such as headphone amplifier, outboard effects, and so on.

My first real soundcard (after Soundblaster) was a Egosys WT 24/96 and it worked perfectly day after day.... But I needed more inputs so i bought a MOTU 24I/O...:-)

I use the Wamirack 192X with Sonar and XP and it is freaking awsome, dont listen to the BS, the pres are warm and phat the converters are wonderfull, the highest rated in the world, if you believe EGOsys's boasting about them, the Maxio will be out soon, 24 I/O on one card http://www.esi-pro.com/viewProduct.php?pid=8&page=1

I have the Wami Rack L

I use it as a composing device. The drivers work great on my PIII600. I used to have the Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96, but sold that when I began spending too much time in the ProTools studio I work but then missed having my own system and so bought the Wami Rack. I had problems with it and Win98se and upgraded to XP. After that - runs great.
Using the rewire I can open B4 standalone and record in to Sonar.

I bought mine on Ebay, factory sealed for $280… not bad.

Whats wrong with your Aardvark? Is it a Direct Pro? … want to trade?
