I just bought the M-Audio mobile pre USB to upgrade from my previous factory soundcard and also to bypass my crappy little mixer. (I originally bought the M-Audio FireWire card, but later realized I don't have a firewire port on my system.) The sound is way better than before, but my software is now crashing constantly (everytime I attempt to record something it just freezes for like 5 minutes and then a box pops up that says:
"An error has occured during the current operation. An exception has occured."
I'm using Acid Pro 4.0 have never encountered a problem with it before. Also when just playing back audio in Acid, it keeps skipping and dropping out. I checked the latenct and buffer speeds and everything is the same as it was with the old card, and even when I changed it to experiment, the same thing happens.
This just started happening yesterday as soon as I connected the new card. I though it may be a ram problem, but I'm not using much. I even tried minimalizing the number of tracks, but nothing works. I also use Cool Edit Pro and I have absolutely no problems with that.
It may be Acid that's the problem, but I don't see how as it's worked perfectly for 3 years until now. I'd uninstall and reinstall it, but the cd is at my parents house across the state.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Sorry this is so long.
Thanks,
Springfield
