I recently downgraded my Dell Optiplex 3020 back to Windows 10, which I should not have even tried to upgrade. I have a Steinberg UR22II USB audio interface which has run fine for years. After the downgrade, a strange audio problem has occurred only on the interface: every 20-30s, the bitrate sounds as if it is massively reducing for a few seconds, then it is restored - sounding like a bitcrusher. This is not occurring in the computer's own audio output. I also see that there is no audio signal being received in Audacity (the I/O are set to the UR22), and that was also working fine until I downgraded.
What might be going on here? Why has this happened after the downgrade? How might I fix it?
Duh: I forgot to reinstall the Yamaha Steinberg driver.
