I learned over in the
live sound board with the big guys that digital speaker processors, which use the same parametric eq terminology, don't always have matching results with the same settings. Apparently the math used to construct the filters varies, so the filters and the sound vary between products.
And then you have the difference between minimum phase and linear phase filters. They definitely sound different. Linear phase filters can get resonant at aggressive settings, but they are free from the phase effects of IIR filters.
