Is there a way to eliminate that long (nearly two minute fade) on "Hey Jude" on the Beatles 1 CD? I would like to make it sound nearly equal to the end of the song (like radio stations do), without a noticeable fadeout. The song begins to slowly fade at around the 5 minute mark, to the end at 7:08....I have Audacity and have tried the leveler function, to no avail. Any Suggestions???

What do you want to do...end it with a drum break?

Just keep turning up the fader higher and higher on your stereo....as the song fades lower and lower.
It will give you something to do during those 2 minutes and 8 seconds, instead of just waiting for the end.

Or copy and paste sections that are not faded and fake it. Not my way to go, but you will likely get a bunch of noise as you reach the end by just raising the gain.

Automate a volume curve against the curve of the fade (although you're going to be bringing up noise and hiss). The reason it doesn't fade well on radio is that they're smashing the crap out of it.

you should try what Massive Master said. draw a curve throughout the fadeout section. -should be fairly easy to do in any DAW.
also you would be able to jump between sections in that 2min fade and check to see that the volume is roughly the same- so you have a clue as to how "Steep" you should draw your curve.
also take in mind it might not be a linear fadeout, so you are bound to a lot of guessing.
