i have an mp3 file which is like three hours long...... is there a way to edit parts and make it fit onto a 80min cd????? i have easy cd creator 4 for my burning program....... which i think is supposed to have an edit audio section but doesn't.......

try sound forge 5. i have not tried to edit mp3s with it, but sound forge opens mp3s and plays them so i assume it will also edit them.

mp3 editing

In general I think you'll need to convert your mp3s back into wav form to edit them. This is just as simple as the wav --> mp3 process and can normally be done with the same software. Then use a wav editor to edit the file and then burn it onto a CD. If you like you can then reconvert back to mp3 to reduce the file size. The sound quality should not be significantly different to your original file.

I have a great mp3 plugin for cool edit. It opens mp3's in cool edit, so you get instantly the chance to edit them.

you can save them back as mp3, or wav file.

Hmmm, I thought ez cd creator had a sound editor. In sound forge I'd just copy the sections into new songs, convert to wav. and burn a disc at once cd.

I would not convert it back to .wav ...if you do, this new wav file will still only be the quality of a mp3 file.....so then you will have to encode it again, so it will lessen the quality even more.....kinda like taking a picture of a picture or making a copy of a copy......
