Hi all
I'm new to this and have just bought the card to do some recording (I am very poor). I've installed it (ie plugged it in) and I can record through it (although it sounds rubbish, but that's a problem for a different thread). My main problem is that I can't hear anything when I play back through it - I only know the recorded sound was bad because I changed the settings in 'Sounds and Audio Devices' in the control panel in Windows back to the original on board sound card.
The problem appears to be that in the Volume tab in Sounds and Audio Devices in the Windows control panel, the Device Volume is set at the lowest level, and is greyed out so I can't access it. If I change it back to the on board card, the Device Volume is available and hence I can hear sound.
I'm running XP on my PC. I hope all the above makes sense. I'd really appreciate any help you can give me. I've got all manner of masterpieces in my head that the world needs to hear !
