Does anybody know if an Ebow used acoustically (just acoustic guitar, no pickup or amp) can be mic'd with a Studio Projects B1?? I'm just wondering if I were to really boost the level on the track if I would get enough volume out of this. I'd try it out but I dont have an ebow, trying to check it out before I decide to get one. ......... Thanks BJ

I've mic'd acoustic Ebow playing before, and the b1 is as hot as any mic I have. It should work no problem. (Keep in mind that EBow will only work with metal strings, not nylon strings.)

Yeah I know about the strings.......I've got a Taylor 314 so no worries about nylon.....thanks alot. By the way when you plugged your ebow in did what kind of pickup did you use with it? I'm getting a Fishman rare earth for my Taylor and was wondering if the ebow would work well with this. Thanks again....BJ

Seeing as how the Ebow has to be right above the pickup, Ill bet the B1 will do a fine job of micing the amp.

I don't have a pickup on any of my acoustic guitars. Also, I thought your original question said you weren't using a pickup.

Yeah I'm not going to be using a pickup for recording.

I mean for live if I wanted to put a rare earth on my guitar and want to use the ebow live.....will this work seeing as the pickup is exposed (unlike an saddle pickup installed) ....I figured it would since electric guitar pickups are exposed but not sure......Sorry for not clarifying there. BJ
