ya i think its a bad idea to buy those mics.. i mean you never know !!!

-actually i'm the current high bidder :)
i was going to buy 2 for overheads :)

"never been tested" means "if they dont work you dont get your money back" in ebayese.

99.9% positive feedback with over 11,000 transactions is about as good as you can expect. You might shoot the seller a question about return policy, since it doesn't seem to mention it. Of course, if the mic didn't work, you could always turn around and sell it to some other unsuspecting e-bayer for the same price, or more.

what do you guys think, should i purchase two of this sellers mics?

the part that makes me a little unsure is the fact that it says

these mics have not been tested ......

I would be afraid that the seller bought a bunch of mics and tested them to pick the best ones, or trying to make matched pairs selling off the low output, muddy, or harsh high end mics. I would not do it myself.

yeah its a tough descion

but i guess its a bad idea to post ebay auctions on here ... people might steal them from you!!!!

oh nevermind my last comment..... no one stole the auction i realized you were the high bidder since yesterday.

my bad

I worry that when a seller says that the merchandise is untested and as is, that it is simply broken or unusable. Then there is no return provision, and you can't really complain.

I agree. It pretty much gives him license to sell you something that doesn't work. I'm in the market for one of these as well but there seems to be no shortage of them on eBay (at least 1-2 a week, I've noticed,) So I'll probably wait on another one.

I was bummed to hear GC isn't selling even the Chinese ones any more. I could have bought one a few weeks ago when they had 14 left. Now they're all gone and the guy said they're not going to sell them any more. :(

$193.00 for the tested ones at the SoundRoom these days..........that price is pretty tempting, and it's even an MK, not an MC. I love these mics, but it's a roll of the dice for sure in this case.

"Do you feel lucky punk, well do ya."

Good luck.

193 for a matched pair?

Beware the new Chinese ripoff Oktavas. They come with a plastic clip instead of the Russian metal one.
