Any idea WHY some eBay seller, with a good and long reputation, would do this ? Any psychiatrists out-there ?

this guy must have some life events going on or something ... hah hah hah . LOL.
You can ask him a Q about it, I'm sure the answer will be pretty entertaining. One way or the other, but it looks like he is having 'good time' and his writings are fun to reed :D

check this item too... funny stuff: http://cgi.ebay.com/Half-An-Ampex-Quantegy-Metal-Reel-For-Tape-Frisbee_W0QQitemZ5794144106
I love the side-view photo :p , also this:
Winner pays flat $5 shipping. Or, if you live close by, I can simply throw it to you a-la Frisbee. These half reels are pretty aerodynamic. Or I can simply drop by and slide it under the door

lol...that's some nerdy humor right there! :p

Regards!

(PS I have some tape there too but that is not the point of this post)

OMG! That is reel-y funny. I like the addendum where he stated it got unspooled even more. Could anyone imagine respooling at least 1000' or more of tape especially without the guide? Reminds me of the days when I'd respool an 1/8" cassette or create a loop for my old tape echoes, what a nightmare.

If he was really thrifty he could say, "when it unspooled it formed the face of the Mother Mary", and he'd probably get at least $20,000 for something like that.
