Of course I'm familiar with Fleetwood Mac (and obviously know who Stevie Nicks is). I grew up listening to them among a bunch of other bands from that time. I've heard the name Lindsey Buckingham but I didn't know who it was or that he engineered the song.

Would you name your son Lindsey?

I wouldn't, but then again I wouldn't give him the last name Buckingham either. .

Of course, Leslie Nielsen, Carol O'connor and Brett Favre seemed to do just fine with their names too.

There was a time when stereo was just starting to become popular/mainstream in cars when there was a theory that said one should throw the balance of the mix slightly right so that it would sound balanced to the person in the driver's seat; which in the majority of cars is the only occupant, and is an occupant in every car.

Kind of limiting your target market though - like, bugger the rest who listen extensively on headphones, have arranged their listening room according to the established norm, and own a left-hand drive vehicle. Other than that, the 'mix slightly right' theory sounds plausible.

Naah, I'm willing to bet that the balance control was a good enough compromise.
