dumb sonar 3 noob question

Heh, since when is a noob question not dumb....but anywho,

how many tracks can Sonar 3 producer edition record at once?
Regardless of hardware, if hardware was not an issue.

My next logical question is, can it record 16 tracks at once with a p4 2.4GHz sata raptor drive 36GB 1GB RAM?

Yes.

Provided your hard drive is relatively quick enough and whatever sound card you are using to deliver your 16 tracks to Sonar has well written drivers.

Your raptor will have 0 problems with that. As long as your motherboard drivers are all cool and it's nicely defragged, I doubt it would have problems with double that or even more. Just make sure you defrag often.
