Dual mic recording with the Audio Buddy?

One of Santa's elves told me I'll be getting the MXL 990/991 and Audio Buddy preamp for Christmas. I've seen a lot of discussion about the Audio Buddy not providing the full 48v of phantom power, and that the phantom power per channel drops significantly if both channels are in use.

Does anybody have experience recording with both channels of an Audio Buddy preamp, preferably with the MXL 990 and 991 mics? Will those mics still get enough phantom power to be able to do a stereo recording of an acoustic guitar ? My assumption is this should work, since Guitar Center has offered this packaged deal for quite a while now. Any input would be most appreciated.

I don't know about the MXL's but the Audio Buddy pushed my 2 Shure KSM 109's just fine. However it could not provide enough power for my MSH mics. You'll have to probably try it. I will say that I sold plenty of people that package when I worked at GC and nobody returned it or said anything about it not providing enough power. So it'll work with some mics and not with others.

yeah i just picked up that same mxl 990 and 991 / audio buddy package and it works fine using both at the same time.
