Well I'm searching for my first condenser mic to record cymbals. Since I'm on a budget I'm looking for something near 100$ since i'm bying 2 for stereo recording. What do you think about the following mics: M-Audio Nova, Behringer B1, B5, any other suggestions? It would be nice if I could also record vox or guitar or something with this mic too. Thanx! :)

Thanx, but I've heard that the MXL 603's are f**king great for acoustic guitar but not that great for cymbals (too shinny or something). Any other suggestions?

Oktava MK 319. People seem to like these a lot for cymbals and toms.

Oktava

I love my Oktava's, their sorta expensive.BUT
It's worth the $300+ ;)

If you look around, you can find used Oktava SDC's for $150-200 for a pair.

I have a mxl 991 for my over heads and wish you could buy them individually and not in that pack, but the 990 doesn't sound bad on male vocals i found out. the combo isn't a bad price to start out with though like $100 new or something. just a thought
