Bloodsoaked

Death Metal Freak
(This is a death metal song with only about 50% of the vocals done)

I am also looking for advice for some of the slower parts of the song. At 1:40 and 2:36 there slower parts of the song. I wanted to change it up a bit and not have it all blast beats or double bass kicks. I am looking for feedback from drummers or anyone else that has programed drums for some editing help.

Thank you.

I'm not that tickled by the constant pummeling of the double bass. It really gets redundant after a while. I would continue the double bass since thats a staple of this style of music. However, at 1:20, I began to get bored. This is where I would start. Maybe stop the double bass for a brief second and then come in with some moderately fast triplet patterns on double bass. Throw around some accents as your double bass'n it ( doesn't have to be triplet ). Another words, funk it up a tad. You can then go back into that "something metal" pounding of the double bass. The trick is to keep them interested and you are on the right track looking for ways of keeping folks interested. Good job for you style of music by the way. Its a crunchy as they get.

Oh yes. Something that may help differentiate your playing from the standard issue is to incorporate flams ( flam-a-diddles w/accents, flam-a-diddle-diddles, flam triplets, flam accent, etc. ) into your double bass playing.

Good luck!
