I use Sonar, and in the audio view I can see and hear very short audio clicks/pops every once in a while. I know this is a hardware issue. My question is, how would you save this track? Is there a way to "draw" an audio line across the click to mask or remove it? I'm stuck on this one. Thanks in advance....

You could put a volume envelope over the track and dip it over the pops. If you have Soundforge, it's very powerful as far as editing out this kind of stuff. But the big question is wherer are the pops coming from? This could be anything from a software/driver issue or timing (master clock) problem. That's where I'd be focusing.

Yes, I have SoundForge. Can you draw over audio in there? I know Sonar has a tool reference to open Forge and drop this wav right in there. If I can edit the wav in Forge, how do I drop it back into Sonar?

The pops and clicks are definately driver related. I use a Gadget Labs 824, 8-in, 8-out card. The company went belly up, and drivers have been hit or miss for some time. I've decided to live with it's flaws for the time being.

There's pencil tool in soundforge that can be used to draw over pops. Many times when I have to edit out a simular flaw what I do is to highlight the pop from zero crossing to zero crossing on either side of the pop. I first mute it and the cut it out and paste it in a quiet section nearest the audio event I'm working on. It makes for an invisable edit and doesn't change the length/timing of the track.

Thanks, I'll try it tonight. How do you get your fixed wave back into Sonar?

If you send the wav to Soundforge from Sonar, when you save your changes and close Soundforge it'll automaticly drop back into your project.
