Hello,

I have a DP-32. I imported some tracks into the DP-32 from a DAW (Cubase) and recorded a vocal track in the DP-32.

When I export the vocal track back into the DAW, the vocal track starts late making it not in sync with the other tracks.

Does anyone know how to correct this?

(BTW, the reason I want to record the vocal track in the DP-32 is because I like how easy it is to use and how quiet it is with no computer noise.)

Thanks for your help.

You don't mention exactly how you transferred the vocal track to the DAW. If you did it by moving the track WAV file from the song files to the audio depot and then to your DAW there's no reason why it should not line up with your DAW tracks. As well.......with the DP32 you could be creating a master song file and then exporting from that. In doing so........do you recall setting IN and OUT points? That could be an issue. I know this is confusing. Basically we need more detail from you as to the steps you took.

In any case..........if you're going to mix in the DAW.........just move DP32 track in your DAW to the right starting point no?

Yes, I exported the vocal track WAV file into Audio Depot, then moved the WAV file into my computer, then dragged the file into a new track in the DAW.

I moved the file to the starting point, but for some reason the vocal track starts about 10/16 of a measure late.

I'm also not using any Set In or Out points in either.

I can't figure out why the vocal track is starting late.

Of course it would be good to fix the problem at the outset rather than have to try to adjust the track every time.

Is there a setting in the DP-32 that causes the tracks to start later than zero? It's like there's a pause before the track starts.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like you're doing everything right. I use a DP24 and do the same thing with no timing / starting issues importing to Reaper. I know of no Tascam setting that essentially adds "time" before the start of any track. What I do that might be different is to make my set-in point zero every time. Just a habit of mine. Wish I could be of more help...........but let us know if you find the answer.

kinda sounds like a latency issue. I used to get that singing to canned tracks on my PC. More info would be helpful. How are you hearing the music as you sing, are you running the tracks from the pc though an input on the DP32? Seems like it would be kind hard to sync tracks from different recording sources without time coding them....
